E-Mail Swap - Read GMail on Your Blackberry

If you are always on the road, you will of course want a way to read your email on your PDA. This is easy with your service provider's email, but requires a bit more work when you have a thrid party email account such as gmail.

Here are the steps you need to do to enable gmail on a Blackberry:

1. Enable POP for your gmail account. Login to your GMail account, select Settings > Forwarding and Pop > Enable POP > Save Changes
2. Add your gmail email account to your Blackberry. Click Profile > other email accounts (Email Accounts section of your profile) > Add Account
3. Submit the new account once you have completely entered the information.

However, the problem with this approach is that your Blackberry will need to keep polling your gmail account every 15 minutes or so to check and see if there is new mail.

Another approach you can do is to forward your gmail to your Blackberry email. This way, you will get your emails right away. Do not forget though to use your gmail in your Reply-to address.
